Strengthening Global Connections

Acsenda School of Management Engages with the Philippine Canada Trade Council and Rotary Club of Vancouver-Mountainview

Vancouver is a thriving hub for international education, home to diverse post-secondary institutions and top-tier business schools. The dynamic landscape of business education in Vancouver offers students the opportunity to connect with global networks, fostering collaboration and professional growth beyond the classroom.

Acsenda School of Management (ASM) recognizes the immense value of being part of the international education industry. Through engagement with key councils and organizations, students gain access to meaningful opportunities that enhance their academic and professional experiences. Most recently, ASM had the honor of participating in a prestigious event hosted by the Philippine Canada Trade Council (PCTC) and the Rotary Club of Vancouver-Mountainview (RCVM).

On January 31st, the PCTC, RCVM, and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants in BC (PICPA) organized a special welcome luncheon at the Vancouver Club to honor the newly appointed Consul General (CG) of the Philippines in Vancouver, Dr. Gina Jamoralin. The event brought together over 100 distinguished guests, including representatives from provincial, federal, and municipal governments, as well as key business and community leaders.

The luncheon was a momentous occasion that underscored the power of collaboration and representation. Among the notable attendees were Elder Marge White and Rosalin Miles, who provided an official welcome from Indigenous communities, and esteemed political figures such as MLA and Deputy Speaker Mable Elmore (Vancouver-Kensington), MP and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Heritage Taleeb Noormohamed (Vancouver Granville), Hon. George Chow, BC Minister of Citizen Services and MLA for Vancouver-Fraserview, and Vancouver City Councillor and Deputy Mayor Peter Meiszner. Their presence and support highlighted the strong ties between the Filipino community and Canadian leadership.

This event also provided a unique learning opportunity for ASM students who had the chance to attend and engage with influential figures in business and governance. These real-world experiences are invaluable, as they allow students to expand their professional networks, gain industry insights, and develop cultural competency, all essential skills for future business leaders.

The PCTC, PICPA BC, and the Rotary Club of Vancouver-Mountainview continue to play a vital role in supporting Filipinos in British Columbia, strengthening trade relations between Canada and the Philippines, and fostering a sense of community. ASM is proud to be part of such initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to connecting students with impactful global opportunities.
