Prepare for Convocation 2026
We’re so excited to celebrate your big day with you on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre! As you prepare to walk across the stage and celebrate with your family and friends, please take a moment to read through the important details below to help you plan your day and make it a smooth and memorable experience.
What to Bring:
- Your Tickets: Each graduate is provided with their ordered tickets from RSVP information 1 graduate ticket and 1 for each guests’ tickets (maximum 4 guest tickets only per student). Children also require a ticket.
- Full Academic Regalia: Gown, cap, hood, and tassel – if you’ve already collected these.
Note: We do not have extra regalia on site, so make sure you bring yours.
- Personal Items: There is coat or bag check at the venue managed by Queen Elizabeth Theatre with a small fee if you wish to pay. We suggest you always keep your belongings with you. We highly recommend you bring small bags.
Before You Arrive:
- Arrive Dressed: Please arrive in full regalia, with hair and makeup done. There are no changing or prep areas at the venue.
- Eat Beforehand: No food will be provided during the ceremony. The venue asked us to inform all our graduates and guests that no food and drinks allowed inside the theatre.
- Parking: There is no free parking at the venue. Affordable parking is available nearby. The venue is also accessible via public transit.
- Comfort First: Expect some walking and standing, so wear comfortable shoes.
- Guest Entry Time: Guests will be allowed to enter starting at 12:00 PM. Please ensure they arrive early, as they may have to wait to enter the hall once the processional begins.

During the Ceremony (Starts at 1:00 PM)
- Follow staff and volunteer directions at all times.
- Processional Order: BBA graduates will enter first, followed by BHM graduates.
- Stage Procedure:
- When it’s your turn, hand your name card to the reader.
- Walk across the stage after your name is announced.
- Shake hands with the President and Chancellor.
- Proceed to take your graduation headshot photo after your walk across the stage.
- Return to your seat afterward.
- Photos During the Procession and Ceremony: We understand how special this day is and your desire to capture every moment! Please do not take photos while walking into the hall or when being guided to your seat during the processional. For safety reasons and to keep the ceremony running smoothly, we need everyone to move promptly and follow staff directions at all times. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities for photos after the ceremony!
Information for Your Guests:
Please share the following reminders with your guests:
- Tickets Are Required: Make sure you give them their tickets in advance, as you won’t be able to meet them until after the ceremony.
- Entry Starts at 12:00 PM: Guests won’t be allowed in earlier. Latecomers may have to wait for the processional to finish before entering.
- Post-Ceremony Photos: There will be time for photos with you in the theatre lobby after the event.
Event Schedule
- 10:30 AM – Graduate Arrival (Only graduates at this time)
- 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM – Guest Arrival
- 12:40 PM – 1:00 PM – Graduate Processional
- 1:00 PM – Ceremony Begins & Livestream Starts
- 3:45 PM – Ceremony Ends
- 3:45 – 5:00 PM – Social & Photo Time in the Lobby (optional)
