FAQ

On January 22nd, 2024, the Canadian Government announced changes to Canada’s  international student study permit application requirements, with immediate effect. The main change is that all new study permit applications (submitted on or after January 22nd, 2024) will also require an ‘Attestation letter’ from the provincial government of British Columbia.

The Government of BC has shared the guidelines and implemented the Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) issuing system on March 4th, 2024. Acsenda School of Management (ASM) has re-evaluated the admissions process and as part of this change a Statement of Purpose (SOP) is now required. The implementation of an SOP will assist the ASM admissions officer in understanding the applicant’s candidature and it will also be an important document that will support your study permit application. With the support of professionals in the immigration sector, Acsenda School of Management has created a SOP template to make sure candidates cover all the necessary information.

“Canada to stabilize growth and decrease number of new international student permits issued to approximately 360,000 for 2024”

On January 22nd, 2024, The Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship announced that the Government of Canada will set an intake cap on international student permit applications to stabilize growth for a period of two years. Provincial caps have been established and the IRCC allocates a portion of the cap to each province and territory, which is the distributed among their designated learning institutions.

With certain amount of Provincial Attestation Letters (PALs), ASM now requires prospective student to utilize the service of a qualified immigration professional to assist with the preparation and submission of the application for the study permit and visas. The PAL request should come from the DCIP by email to admissionsupport@Acsenda.com . The email request should include the student’s latest Letter of Acceptance from ASM and the IMM5476-Use of Representative Form signed and dated by both parties (RCIC or Layer and the student). Then, the PAL will be issued directly to the student and with copy to the DCIP.

Acsenda School of Management (ASM) built, and continues to build, a registry identified as “ASM DCIP Registry”. This registry includes immigration companies without formal business affiliation and includes Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and recognized Canadian Lawyers. Their role is to provide a support service to prospective student who wish to study in Canada. ASM nor the company receives any remuneration from the other party; still, Immigration companies will charge a fee for their service, and it is the student’s responsibility to discuss the fee and services provided.

Yes, they can. Keep in mind that your RCIC/Lawyer will need to submit a request form to be part of ASM’s registry (see next question).

To be part of the DCIP registry, the RCIC or Lawyer will have to submit a request form. Please request the form from admissionsupport@acsenda.com

Upon receipt of the form, ASM will verify eligibility to provide service through the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultant (CICC). Further guidelines on how to request a PAL will be emailed upon approval.

Yes, it does. Students must submit their study permit application before the expiration date reflected on the PAL.

We encourage immigration professionals to request the PAL once the student is ready to submit the study permit application to IRCC.

It might take up to 2 (two) business days after request from the DCIP.
