As of November 8, 2024, new regulations regarding off-campus work hours for international students have come into effect:
- Eligible students may now work up to 24 hours per week off-campus during an academic semester.
- Students may still work full-time during scheduled breaks if they meet the criteria outlined in section 186(v) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).
- Students can accept employment on or off campus, provided they meet the eligibility criteria under R186(f), (v), or (w). However, they must cease working if they no longer meet these criteria.
