TAXN401 – Taxation
This first-level taxation course is aimed at providing students with an introduction to the Canadian income tax system. It aims to:
- Ensure a good understanding of the general principles and concepts of the Canadian Income Tax Act (“ITA”) as encountered by most individual and corporate taxpayers.
- Develop professional skills in the application of ITA principles and concepts to solve tax problems of individuals and corporations.
- Introduction to basic principles of income tax planning
- Introduction to the Goods and Services Tax
- International considerations: Multinational Capital Budgeting Introduction to Risk Management
- Reasons to Manage Risk
- Foreign Exchange Risk
- Commodity Price Risk Forward Contracts, Futures Contracts
- Commodity Price Risk Forward Contracts, Futures Contracts
