New IRCC Updates-PGWP Eligibility

On September 18, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced upcoming changes to the eligibility requirements for the Post-Graduation Work Permit. On October 4, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) provided further updates on the eligibility requirements for the Post-Graduation Work Permit. For more information, please refer to the IRCC page here.

After graduating from Acsenda School of Management, students may apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit or PGWP. Duration and eligibility depends on meeting the general eligibility requirements and when students applied for their study permit. 

If students submitted their study permit application before November 1, 2024

If students submitted their study permit application before November 1, 2024 and will be applying for a PGWP after November 1, 2024, they must meet all of the above requirements and they must prove their English or French proficiency skills with a minimum of CLB 5  in English or NCLC 5 in French in all 4 language areas. 

IRCC will accept language test results from the following tests:

a. English: CELPIP-General, IELTS General Training, PTE Core

b. French: TEF Canada, TFC Canada

The test results must be less than 2 years old at the time of the PGWP application.
