Position Overview

O’ Canada House Bed and Breakfast is seeking a dependable, attentive, and service-minded hospitality student for a long-term co-op or practicum placement. This hands-on opportunity provides well-rounded, practical experience across core bed-and-breakfast operations, offering a strong foundation in boutique guest relations and lodging management.

This is a live-in position that includes designated single-occupancy staff accommodation on-site (note: personal pets cannot be accommodated).

Key Responsibilities

• Housekeeping & Property Upkeep: Ensure guest rooms and common areas maintain immaculate standards of cleanliness, presentation, and comfort.
• Linen & Laundry Management: Oversee daily processing, folding, stocking, and inventory of linens and towels.
• Guest Services & Support: Warmly welcome guests, assist with inquiries, provide local recommendations, and deliver attentive service throughout their stay.
• Administrative & Computer Tasks: Handle basic guest check-ins/check-outs, manage reservation details, and assist with general office administration as needed.
• Operational Support: Assist with food preparation or kitchen setup as required.

Qualifications & Asset Skills

• Program Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a recognized hospitality, tourism, or business management program with authorization to complete a full-time placement in Canada.
• Commitment: Available and legally authorized for a minimum 12-month placement.
• Experience: Prior experience in housekeeping, customer service, or the service industry is strongly preferred.
• Core Traits: High attention to detail, strong reliability, a proactive learning mindset, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Technical & Culinary Assets: Basic computer proficiency is required. Previous experience with cooking, baking, or breakfast prep is considered a strong asset.
