The HRC West Competition 2022 is a competition for post-secondary students to put into action skills learned, connect with other HR professionals, obtain authentic knowledge and win great prizes if stated winners of the competition.
The competition consists of an extensive business case study that examines an important HR challenge. The student teams have three hours to assess the case and plan a response. After that, the team has 20 minutes to present their response to the case through PowerPoint to the judges, and 10 minutes of Q&A after they finish their presentation.
The judges are composed of CHPR academic professionals that have been involved in the HR industry.
How was the HRC West Competition 2022 for Acsenda?
The HRC West Competition was held virtually on March 4 & 5, 2022. The Acsenda’s team UPLIFT HR Consulting was composed of Feroge Chama, Cristina Lisnic, Danila Piasco, and Crystal Teves; they competed with 10 other teams from post-secondary institutions in BC and Alberta.
Our team was confident in their knowledge and while they didn’t take a finalist spot, they were able to come together to tackle a challenging HR case. The participating members dedicated months of intense study to prepare well for the competition, and they collaborated together to tackle the HR case and proudly represent Acsenda. The case emphasized inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA).
The team had a great experience where they learn new things, meet HR professionals and new students from other institutions, and demonstrate a high level in their HR knowledge. The HRC West Competition is entirely dedicated to the Human Resources area and is a great opportunity for students to encounter new challenges and expand their knowledge.
We want to congratulate the winning team ‘Synergy Solutions’ from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and other participating teams for their efforts and encouragement. A very special thanks to our student team, UPLIFT HR Consulting for their initiative, leadership and perseverance in successfully representing Acsenda School of Management.
