What is GAC?

Acsenda School of Management is pleased to recognize ACT Education Solutions, Limited’s Global Assessment Certificate (GAC) Program as satisfying admission requirements for Acsenda and will recognize course work completed for transfer credit towards an Acsenda degree program.

The Global Assessment Certificate program is a university preparation and foundation studies program that provides students from mostly non-English-speaking backgrounds with academic knowledge and skills to prepare them for western-style postsecondary study.

The GAC is recognized for admissions and credit transfer purposes by more than 90 universities around the globe, including Acsenda School of Management.

GAC holders entering as international first-year students (direct entry) must meet the following requirements:

  1. English Proficiency

         a. IELTS Academic Module Overall Band 6.5 with no Band below 6, or TOEFL PBT 500-575, or TOEFL iBT 90 with Reading/Listening above 18 and Writing above 22)

         b. GAC students who successfully complete GAC014 & GAC015 with a minimum passing mark of B High are eligible to enter the BBA or BHM program at ASM.

     2. Academic Requirements

         a. High school graduation certificate/diploma or “the equivalent of Year 11 in the Australian school system and be 17 years of age by the time they complete the course.” (Page 4 of GAC Curriculum, April 2023)

         b. Cumulative GPA of 2.33

         c. Complete Acsenda School of Management admission process

     3. Credit Transfer

         a. Students who meet the requirements will have the opportunity to revalidate a maximum of seven (7) of the following subjects, depending on the availability in the chosen undergraduate program.

         b. GAC credits allowed for transfer need a minimum GPA of 2.0 (C High) in each subject.

ASM agrees to accept the completion of additional GAC courses as proof of English Language proficiency as follows: 

  1. GAC students who successfully complete GAC007 & GAC008 with a minimum passing mark of B High are eligible to take ASM’s ENGL103, ENGL104 and one other course from their program to be determined by the registrar’s office. 
  2. GAC students who successfully complete GAC001 & GAC002 with a minimum passing mark of B High are eligible to take ASM’s EAPP090.

Total block transfer into an Acsenda Degree program – 7 courses or 21 credits.

Required to complete an Acsenda Degree Program – 33 courses or 99 credits.

* The number of credits that will apply will depend on the student’s choice of program and specialization. While the maximum credit noted can be awarded, students may be required to complete additional courses (credit) to fulfil the program requirements.

If a student does not complete the entire GAC Program, ASM will award credit for those courses completed providing they meet the above noted minimum grade requirements.
