Learn to Manage Time and Plan Term Effectively

University life as an international student moves fast. Between lectures, assignments, part-time work, family responsibilities, and personal goals, many students feel like they are constantly reacting instead of intentionally choosing how they spend their time. This workshop “Learn to Manage Time and Plan Term Effectively” is designed to change that. This practical workshop will help students understand where their time really goes, why overwhelm happens, and how to build a realistic weekly plan that supports both academic success and personal wellbeing. Instead of offering rigid productivity rules, this workshop teaches students how to work with their energy, priorities, and real-life constraints so they can feel more organized, confident, and in control. Participants shift from saying “I’m lost and behind” to “I know exactly what I should be working on and when. During this session, students explore three key areas: First we will explore why time management sometimes feels so hard to achieve. Many students believe they lack discipline or motivation, but in reality most stress comes from unclear priorities, unrealistic schedules. Second, students will learn how to map their real life. We will look at how to account for fixed commitments (classes, work, family responsibilities), personal energy levels, and recovery time, so that academic work fits into their week in a way that is sustainable. This creates a schedule that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. Third, students learn a simple weekly planning method they can use every Sunday or Monday to organize their assignments, exams, and personal commitments in one clear system. This method helps students avoid last-minute panic, missed deadlines, and burnout — while making space for rest, relationships, and self-care. The workshop is highly practical and reflective. By the end of the session, students will walk away with a clearer understanding of how to plan their week in a way that feels realistic, flexible, and aligned with their goals. You don’t need any previous planning or productivity experience. Whether you’re feeling behind, overwhelmed, or simply want to become more organized and efficient, this session gives you practical tools you can start using right away. Plan your term effectively: Organized by Common Learnings, with Abby Garcia this workshop will help you to improve your quality-of-life: 1- Reduce stress and overwhelm: Learn how to create a schedule that supports your workload and personal commitments without burning you out. 2- Stop procrastinating and last-minute panic: Discover how to break assignments and exams into manageable steps you can actually follow and help you meet deadlines without additional stress. 3- Build a weekly plan that works for real life: Create a simple system that fits your classes, job, family responsibilities, and energy levels. 4- Feel more in control of your academic life: Gain clarity on what to do, when to do it, and how to prioritize. 5- Improve both performance and wellbeing: Better planning leads to better grades, better focus, and more time for yourself.
