About the Scholarship
We take pride in recognizing the achievements of our students, especially when their dedication is celebrated beyond our campus community. We are thrilled to share that Marc Don Jay Dela Pena, a student in the Bachelor of Business Administration program with concentrations in Human Resource Management and Management Information Systems, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Export Development Canada (EDC) International Business Scholarship.
The EDC International Business Scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding students studying international business at Canadian post-secondary institutions. It honors individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, global business awareness, leadership, and active involvement in community service, volunteering, and entrepreneurial efforts.
This prestigious scholarship is presented by Export Development Canada (EDC), a Crown corporation dedicated to helping Canadian businesses grow and succeed in the global marketplace.

About Don Dela Pena
Originally from Bulacan, Philippines, Don exemplifies the values that this scholarship celebrates. His passion for international business, combined with a robust portfolio of work experience, volunteerism, extra-curricular involvement, and community leadership, made him stand out among candidates from across Canada.
Don is known for his commitment to both personal growth and giving back to his community, both at Acsenda and beyond. He has embraced opportunities to lead, support others, and expand his global understanding of business practices.
In Don’s Words
“I have always believed that life is molded by the choices we make. Now, I know that my choice to apply for this EDC scholarship will bring me closer to the aspiration of becoming a better version of myself. Being selected as the recipient of the highly sought 2025 Export Development Canada (EDC) International Business Scholarship is an honor and a privilege. As an international student, this is a significant step forward for my academic and professional future in global trade. More than the financial relief, this award gives me an avenue to grow as a student and as an individual. It inspires me to continue giving back to the student community.”
