Cultivating Creativity: ASM Faculty Adopts LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Methodology

At Acsenda School of Management, innovation in teaching is a top priority. Faculty members are always on the lookout for innovative teaching methods to elevate the learning journey across various programs, from refining HR interview techniques to developing innovative strategies for teaching English language instruction for non-native speakers. One such innovative approach that has been gaining traction is the use of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) methodology. LEGO Education

In our latest faculty development seminar, ASM faculty members have been actively exploring ways to integrate LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® activities into their teaching practices. Take, for instance, our HR classes, where students now participate in mock interviews using LEGO bricks. This innovative method allows them to showcase their problem-solving skills and creative thinking. The result? A deeper understanding of candidates’ personalities and capabilities surpasses the limitations of traditional interviews.

During one activity, faculty members undertook the task of creating models that represented their vision of ASM’s diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The result inspired, with each participant showcasing their unique perspective on how ASM fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment. This activity highlighted ASM’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and sparked discussions on further improving diversity and inclusion in the institution.

One faculty member who has been instrumental in implementing LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology at ASM is Fuat Ramazanov . With a wealth of industry experience and a passion for innovative teaching, Fuat has been leading the charge in incorporating this methodology into his classes. As a Doctorate in Education student at the University of Calgary, Fuat deeply researches the intersection between human and artificial creativity, further enhancing his teaching approach.

Fuat’s dedication to using creative and innovative teaching methods has profoundly impacted ASM students, helping them develop critical thinking skills, boost confidence, and foster a sense of creativity. His commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional teaching methods is a testament to ASM’s dedication to providing a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

ASM’s embrace of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology reflects its commitment to innovation and excellence in teaching. By integrating creative approaches like this, ASM prepares students to thrive in today’s dynamic and ever-changing business landscape. Thank you, Fuat, and all ASM faculty members, for your dedication to shaping the future of education.
