At Acsenda School of Management, we take pride in celebrating cultural diversity and the rich traditions that shape our international student community. This April, our campus came alive with vibrant colours, traditional music, and meaningful reflection during our Vaisakhi celebration, a key cultural and spiritual event for the Sikh community worldwide.
What is Vaisakhi?
Also known as Baisakhi, this festival is one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar, marking the Sikh New Year and the historic formation of the Khalsa Panth by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699. It also celebrates the spring harvest in Punjab, symbolizing abundance, new beginnings, and community unity.
But Vaisakhi is more than a festival, it’s a celebration of courage, justice, and equality. At Acsenda, these values resonate deeply with our own mission of inclusivity, integrity, and global connection.
A Celebration of Culture and Togetherness
Our Vaisakhi celebration at Acsenda was thoughtfully organized by Paras Tuli, Coordinator of Student Admissions Services, and Khyati Arora, a passionate student in the Bachelor of Hospitality Management (BHM) program.
Held in the Student Lounge, the event welcomed students from around the world to learn about the significance of Vaisakhi through storytelling, cultural displays, and a delicious Punjabi lunch and traditional dessert. Many students dressed in yellow, orange, and traditional attire, representing joy, energy, and devotion.
The celebration was filled with smiles, music, dance, and most importantly, a shared spirit of community.
