Celebrating success: Acsenda in the HRC West case competition

Acsenda School of Management was proud to join 15 other schools from British Columbia and Alberta in the annual HRC West Case Competition, hosted by Camosun College in Victoria, BC, on March 1-2. This event, in collaboration with CPHR BC & Yukon and CPHR Alberta, provided HR students the opportunity to apply their practical learning and HR knowledge to real-life corporate case scenarios.

Our sincere thanks to the HR360 team, who represented Acsenda School of Management with distinction at this prestigious event. These students, composed of Edelmira Brindis, Bibi Noor-Nassin, Zen Bonghanoy and Jessa Solajes, showed their talent and dedication throughout the competition.

Their preparation, which lasted several weeks, honed their case analysis skills and transformed them into a cohesive and competent unit.

The case they addressed delved into the complexities of reconciliation and decolonization in the workplace, requiring a nuanced understanding of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission: Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). Special recognition to our indigenous instructors, Charlene León and Ramón Delorme, for their invaluable contributions to this learning journey.

Participating in HRC West provided our students with more than just competition; It offered them a platform to connect with industry professionals and gain valuable real-world HR insights. We extend our sincere thanks to CPHR BC & Yukon and CPHR Alberta for hosting this enriching event, as well as the dedicated human resources professionals who volunteered their time as judges.

Additionally, we express our gratitude to the hosts and volunteers at Camosun College for their role in creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees. A special thank you to CPHR BC’s Carolyne Taylor and CPHR Alberta’s member engagement team, including Avi Sidhu, for their unwavering support throughout the competition.

Congratulations to the winning team, “People Dynamics Solutions”, and their coach from Bow Valley College, Calgary, Alberta. We also congratulate all participating teams for their dedication and inspiration.

Finally, a sincere thank you to our student team, HR360, for their initiative, leadership and professionalism in representing Acsenda School of Management. Their efforts have made us immensely proud and we look forward to witnessing their continued success in future projects. Well done, team!
