Celebrating International Chefs Day with Hands-On Learning at Acsenda

Students and staff at Acsenda School of Management recently celebrated International Chefs Day with an engaging event that enriched students’ learning experiences beyond the classroom. This event combined hands-on learning, culinary skill-building, and creativity, as students learned the art of crafting healthy and nutritious dishes from guest speaker Pranav Kalra, a chef from Hendricks Resto-Lounge.

Chef Kalra shared his culinary expertise through a demonstration of essential knife skills, food safety knowledge, and guided students in preparing Dijon mayo, spring salads, and delicious egg and tuna sandwiches. The interactive session allowed students to ask questions about food safety and the principles of nutritious meal preparation, catering to people with various dietary restrictions. Students also had the chance to taste the freshly prepared dishes, connecting theory to practice through a flavorful learning experience.

The event also featured a photo contest, encouraging Acsenda students to express their culinary journey through photography. The winners were:

  • 1st Place: Razonable S. Libre, 1st-year Hospitality Management student, with “A Palette of Flavors” – a dish symbolizing the story of creativity, texture, and taste.

2nd Place: Jeila Marie J. Mondejar, 2nd-year student, with “Flambe of Life,” capturing the passion and excitement of culinary arts.

3rd Place: Ritish Thapa Magar, 3rd-year student, who shared his journey as a “Foodie with Many Homemade Recipes.”

Congratulations to the winners, and a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Hospitality Club Committee members, including Club President Cherry May Regalado, VP of Marketing Khyati Arora, VP of Member Engagement Kirti Garbuja, and VP of Events Marina Markovic. Their dedication and planning were integral to the success of this event.
