Acsenda’s graduation ceremony took place on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 in the Westside Church in Vancouver, BC. It was a big event that counted with the assistance of approximately 300 graduates, around 600 guests and 30 staff and faculty.
The location was a beautiful 1,800 seat-theatre that was originally built in 1995, it also has a classy structure with modern details, and a big space for organization and comfortability of the public. The event strictly followed the provincial health guidelines which indicate for everyone to wear masks and show proof of vaccination in order to access the event.
Graduates donned their gowns, organize themselves before entering from a beautiful spiral staircase that guides to the main auditorium and when ready they went to the respective seats and ultimately ascended the stage for the eighth conferment ceremony held by Acsenda and overseen by our esteemed president Neil Mort and some other faculty members as well. Family, friends and faculty observed with prideful smiles and tears of joy the significant event that graduates accomplish with their major efforts in their studies and academic life.
In the ceremony, there was a mention of an instrument or communication tool called ‘The Talking Stick’ which is a very important object for the indigenous communities, and whose main purpose is used as a form of a speaker, where the person that holds the stick has the right to speak while the others listen respectfully. If you want more information regarding the story, uses and meaning of the symbols of the stick please read The Acsenda Talking Stick article.
Acsenda wants to extend sincere congratulations to all our 2021 graduates and wish them all the success and happiness in their future endeavours.
