On November 4th, our Associate Director for the International Business Management program, Fuat Ramazanov, took his students on a field trip to a Machining Manufacturing plant in the Lower Mainland operated by Affinity Manufacturing Ltd. The purpose of the trip was to demonstrate how vital it is to have a robust supply chain and operations plan in a production environment.

The tour was an excellent opportunity for Acsenda students to revisit key concepts learned in the Supply Chain and Logistic Management classes. The students had a chance to observe the flow of work in progress inventory and finished products in real-time, watch the run of production machines, witness the quality inspection process, and learn how Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) supports information flow in the supply chain network.

The trip provided hands-on access to the backend of how manufacturing companies operate.
