Acsenda IBM club delivers food items to Richmond Food Bank. Students are supporting the local community by assisting families and individuals facing food shortages. On May 31, more than 200 non-perishable food items were delivered to the Richmond Food Bank. The IBM Club extends its gratitude to all students and faculty members for participating in this food drive project.
What is the Richmond Food Bank society?
The Richmond Food Bank Society is an energetic organization founded in 1983 by the Anglican church and Richmond Presbyterian. The organization provides food assistance, advocacy, and support for community members in need. They also help connect people, food, and services that are important to the health and well-being of the community.
They give nutritionally balanced food to more than 2200 people in a typical week, helping the community members and connecting with their clients to services that are fighting and helping the problem of poverty.
The Richmond Food Bank helps with grocery assistance for grocery distribution and grocery deliveries. They also have breakfast and lunch programs in various Richmond schools and help supply different community partners in their food supply programs. They are a non-government-funded organization, they mostly rely on community donations, food, money, and volunteers to help people in need.
