Acsenda School of Management invited seven students to attend an annual professional networking event from the Canadian Institute of Management (British Columbia/Yukon Chapter).

During this event, students had a unique opportunity to meet Mr. John Fernandes, the Director of Cybersecurity Strategy at Microsoft. Mr. Fernandes delivered an insightful presentation about “Charting Your Own Path on Career Journey and Progression” and discussed important career topics on Landing your Dream Role and Strategies for Career Progression.

President Dr. Neil Mort and Vice President Academic Dr. Chehra Aboukinane also attended this event and encouraged students to connect with various professional managers and organization leaders.

Student Feedback?

“This was an excellent platform for international students because it helped us understand this association’s global perspective and the requirements and benefits that come with being a member of it. It was very informative since I discovered that, as Acsenda students, we could be eligible to become part of this prestigious group of business leaders. It was also remarkably encouraging to hear all the recommendations and critical success factors from John Fernandes, Director of Cyber Security Strategy at Microsoft.”

Jesica Cortes – Student in BBA International Business Concentration

“This was an organized, dynamic, professional, and friendly event. John Fernandes shared his job experiences, strategies, and tactics that he applied to advance his career and gave us great advice. I also really enjoyed the certificate delivery ceremony and the prize draw; I was one of the lucky ones! Sharing the table with our President Dr. Neil Mort and other Acsenda colleagues was enjoyable, as well as talking to members of the CIM. This event allowed me to increase my networking and learn more about the Canadian business environment.”
