On March 3, 2017 Acsenda School of Management was proud to field a team of eager Human Resource Management students of our BBA program in the 2017 HR West Coast Case Competition. Our “Talent Dreamers” team members, Daniel, Cristine, Bruno and Joann, were coached to a successful completion by Instructor, Pomponia Martinez and recent graduate, Elizabeth Tze. Working as a cohesive team, students diligently practiced using a variety of analysis tools and examples in preparation for the big day!

Students are pleased with their results, feeling that the preparation and experience advanced their knowledge of HR theory and application in a wide variety of areas including, HR planning, staffing, OHS, managing change, training, compensation and managing organizational and employee performance. As international students, the team agreed that they were able to successfully compete and connect with their peers and that case competition has inspired them to be even better!
HRC West is the first business case competition in western Canada dedicated entirely to Human Resources and stands as a welcome opportunity for students to connect with industry professionals and to gain real-world HR knowledge by completing the case study.
Our thanks to HRMA’s Kelly Aslanowicz for her enthusiastic representation of the case competition challenge, to the many HR professionals who volunteered their time to provide team feedback and to Kwantlen Polytechnic University for hosting the event and making our participating students and coaches feel welcome and supported. Congratulations to the fifteen participating teams and a special thank you to our student team for their leadership and initiative in successfully representing Acsenda School of Management and their peers. Well done team! We are proud of you!
